Leadership Matters Video Package

Leadership Matters is the new venture of one of our awesome clients, Oceanova, who specialise in teacher and education recruitment.

They have now branched out by creating a subscription based platform that offers school leaders top quality content, training and advice from the leading experts in the field of school leadership.

After receiving a phone call from David, the CEO, explaining their plans we got very excited. They knew how well video has worked for their promotions in the past and they knew that a lot of the content on the platform should be video oriented to make it engaging and easy to digest for the end user.

Halleluiah! It’s always incredibly refreshing to talk to a client that knows what they want and knows the value that video can bring to their campaign. More and more Business Owners/ Marketing Execs are switching over to this way of thinking, keeping up with content trends and innovating new ways to deliver their message. And we love it.

The Leadership Matters project was a lot of fun and was fairly involved from our perspective as the video production partner.

It started with the content creation. We shot 2 round table discussions with influential panel members. Each one involved 3 experts and a facilitator with the discussions (and therefore the video) being an hour and a half long each time.

From a technical perspective this was no easy feat. We had a 5 camera set up for each shoot, a close up on each participant and a wide shot of the room. Each contributor had their own radio microphone feeding into their respective camera. Once set up it was a case of keeping on top of battery levels and memory space on each of the camera’s throughout the discussion. Then came the edit, I’m sure you can imagine it was pretty time consuming, cutting to each speaker and managing to keep the flow of the conversation.

We conducted and filmed individual interviews with each of the contributors as well as the MD of Leadership Matters to create more content for the site. 9 in total.

Andy Buck, who is the MD of Leadership Matters, also conducts training sessions for leadership teams. To promote this we filmed one of his morning courses and grabbed testimonials from a few of the participants. This edited into a short and slick explainer video so that future participants could know what to expect.

Next to film was the Launch event for the Leadership Matters platform. They took the opportunity at the Inspiring Leadership Conference at the ICC in Birmingham to bring their product in front of many attending Head teachers and decision makers. This was a brilliant event for the team, Andy performed a Key note speech at the event and they sponsored the evening networking drinks. They smashed their sign up targets over the 2 days they were exhibiting, which was an excellent start to a new venture. We were there to capture the whole event, the stand being set up, the buzz around the product as it was being demonstrated and the fantastically received Keynote from Andy.

And the final element for us was to produce an explainer promo video for the platform itself. This included and introduction to the site and screen captures to demonstrate to a prospective school exactly what they’ll be getting. This included a touch of animation, commissioning a professional voice over and including clips from the previous video’s we had produced.

The entirety of this project was conceived, planned, produced and delivered within 4 months. We had a real blast with this one and are very much looking forward to producing more content for the platform in the future.
